We beg to enclose Memorial for Charles Park, Upholsterer in Glasgow, on behalf of his children for the gift from the Crown of $313.50 in the hands of Mr. Alexander, Victoria, Hong Kong, and which formed
George McLaren, Seaman, whose nearest relative was Mr. Park's Wife, but which money, owing to the illegitimacy of the deceased and his sister, has fallen to the Crown as ultima haeres,
Along with the Memorial there is sent a Declaration by M. Mair, and also 2 letters from Mr. Alexander of date 27th June 1864 and 14th March 1865, and a receipt by him of date 27th June 1864, acknowledging the money:
May we request the favour of your giving these documents a perusal, and should you approve of the Memorial, issuing the authority from Ms Park to uplift the money
